Lewis Hamilton’s Bold Moves: From Ferrari to Dior Designer
Lewis Hamilton has been making headlines with a series of significant career shifts. Earlier this year, it was announced that the British racing superstar would be joining the Ferrari team after more than a decade with Mercedes. Recently, he celebrated a record-breaking ninth victory at Silverstone, marking yet another milestone on home soil.
Now, Hamilton is switching lanes from racing to fashion design, teaming up with Dior. In addition to serving as an ambassador for Dior’s menswear, the 39-year-old has collaborated with Dior’s artistic director, Kim Jones, to design a spring 2025 lifestyle capsule. Hamilton’s sporting background brings a functional mindset to the luxury pieces, blending practicality with high fashion.
The collection features traditional Dior tweeds in casual suiting, innovative weaves from Burkina Faso, and a mix of denim and sweats. Hamilton’s streetwear sensibility shines through with beanies, sunglasses, and jewelry. For winter enthusiasts, Dior-branded skiwear, developed in partnership with Japanese label Descente, combines style with technical expertise.
“Our values and ideas are aligned, making it easy to bring to life a creative collection infused with our shared experiences,” Hamilton noted in the collection notes. “Focusing on conscious choices and pushing boundaries with each piece, while merging inspiration from my roots in Africa—drawing from their fabrics and belief in natural materials, as well as vibrant colors and powerful energy—has been so inspiring.”
Jones added, “This collection reflects Lewis’s sporting side, his virtuosity, and our functionality. The collaboration came together organically and enjoyably.”
Hamilton is no stranger to the fashion world, having co-designed collections with Tommy Hilfiger in the past. His refined eye and industry experience are evident in this latest venture.
Should Hamilton ever decide to leave racing, his future in fashion looks promising.
