Beauty wearing revealing dress caused Google Images to be born, 20 years later has a “*****ing” catwalk
The blue dress worn by this beauty is considered by many to be one of the most iconic designs of 21st century pop culture.
One of the special moments in Jennifer Lopez’s style journey was when she appeared in a Versace dress to attend the 42nd Grammy Awards, which took place in 2000. That moment not only went down in contemporary fashion history but also left its mark on popular culture.

This is probably a special mark in her style journey.
Despite making a big impression, few people know that this design was just a last-minute choice. Jennifer Lopez shared that normally her fitting session would have a lot of outfits and accessories. However, at that time, she only had two options: either wear a white dress design or a green Versace dress. Ignoring the fact that this dress had been worn by a number of other stars, the singer still chose Versace’s super “cool” tropical jungle design.
This is a dress made of silk chiffon printed with cool forest and tree motifs. Its highlight is the deep chest cut to the belly as well as the cutouts that show off the wearer’s legs and back. This design was introduced in the Versace Spring/Summer 2000 collection.
Supermodel Amber Valletta was the first to wear the “jungle dress” on the catwalk. She also appeared in the legendary “jungle” dress in the campaign to promote the collection.

Before the “On the Floor” singer wore the legendary dress, designer Donatella Versace (right) and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell (left) also wore it in 2000 but could not create an earthquake.
It was not until Jennifer Lopez wore this design on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards that she created a fever among fashion lovers and fans, partly thanks to her extremely hot body. Not only that, the Versace tropical jungle-inspired dress was extremely suitable for the charisma and fiery nature of J.Lo’s Latin blood. Although she did not win any awards, this female singer born in 1970 stole the spotlight of the event.
Not only that, the Versace jungle green dress was also one of the reasons for the birth of Google Images. In 2015, Eric Schmidt – CEO of Google, wrote in an essay on Project Syndicate: ” At the time, the green dress Jennifer Lopez was wearing was the most searched keyword we had ever seen. However, we had no way to bring users the exact results they wanted. And so, Google Images was born .”
Jennifer’s appearance in this blue dress became the inspiration for Google Images.
In 2019, to celebrate the 2-decade anniversary of the legendary dress, Versace launched a completely new version of “the jungle dress”. Of course, Jennifer Lopez was the one who wore that design and took on the role of vedette to close the show.

At the age of 50, the singer’s charismatic appearance on the catwalk made the whole audience burst into tears and extremely excited. After many years, she still maintains her hot body and Latin style performance that “beautifully cut” the models present at the show. Immediately, her image became viral on social networks.

To this day, Versace’s jungle green dress continues to inspire other designers. Many stars even copy J.Lo’s look for Halloween.
